About P’s Pod

Constructing a better tomorrowP’s Pod, a quarterly on-line magazine for the Asia Peacebuilding Initiatives (APBI) website seeks to provide analyses, background briefs, and commentaries by specialists (Japanese and regional) on on-going conflicts and peace processes in Asia, with initial focus on three areas: Myanmar, Southern Philippines and Southern Thailand. Articles from the on-line magazine will be published separately on the site, as well as news from our monitors and special articles.

Each P’s Pod issue will be devoted to one particular conflict/peace process or an important subject in the field of peace-building. To this end, our editorial policy is to offer analyses and briefs based on “on-the-ground, hands-on” perspective of regional studies, but set in a broader context of the dynamics of regional and global international politics. The editorial group is an interdisciplinary enterprise, comprised of regional experts and international politics generalists, in order to ensure that background briefs and analyses of particular issues are informative, relevant, and also accessible to a wider audience, including policymakers, journalists, students and the general reader. P’s Pod aims to be fair, impartial, objective in treating these peace-building efforts that can often be volatile and politically sensitive, and do not seek influence any party in ways that may be detrimental to these efforts.
